eSports Racing League Logo Final White

We are excited to announce Esports Racing League (ERL), a structured series of competitive virtual racing events hosted on iRacing. The purpose of the league is to provide opportunity for esports racers to prove themselves on yet another virtual racing circuit.

The structure for each event and the event schedule is now available below.

  • The series begins with a scheduled ‘Time Attack’ event on iRacing’s official site. Any driver can take time in order to attempt to qualify for the league. The top 64 lap times will be reviewed, and those drivers will be invited into the hosted league.
  • The 64 drivers that qualify will be divided into two groups of 32. The top 32 will compete in NASCAR Cup Series Cars in 12 events on Wednesday nights, and the bottom 32 will compete in NASCAR Xfinity Cars at the same 12 tracks but on Monday nights. All race sessions will start at 7:15 PM EST. The cup car races will be referred to as the ERL Premier Series and the Xfinity car races will be known as the ERL Sportsman Series.
  • Every event will be a fixed setup race with race length to be determined in the coming weeks. There will be no ‘fast repair’ available in any event. Additionally, there will be a spring and fall season. This means there will be two, 12 race series’ for both the Premier and Sportsman series. This provides an opportunity for two different champions to be crowned for the two different classes in a single year. There will be a scheduled ‘Time Attack’ on iRacing before each season (2 total Time Attack events).
  • For each series, a basic points system will be applied for drivers’ overall championship standings at the end of the 12 races. 32 points will be awarded to the winner, 31 to second place, 30 to third place and so on. Furthermore, there will be a one-point bonus for qualifying on the pole and one-point for leading a lap.
  • There will be one 10-minute open practice session and 5 minutes to qualify for each event during the spring and fall seasons.
  • The races will be broadcasted live on Twitch and replays will be uploaded to YouTube. Live events at select NASCAR races throughout the year are a primary goal of the league. Anthony Alfredo and the ERL are also pursuing sponsorship to help provide significant purses for the competitors in each event, along with championship a championship bonus.
