Alfredo Shows Top-15 Pace at Rockingham Before Late-Race Setback
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (April 5, 2026) — Anthony Alfredo demonstrated solid pace throughout the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Rockingham Speedway on Saturday, but a late-race issue prevented the No. 96 team from securing a strong finish.
Driving the No. 96 Viking Motorsports Chevrolet, Alfredo qualified 15th and maintained consistent speed throughout the early stages of the race. He advanced to finish 12th in Stage One, showing the team’s ability to compete inside the top 15.
In Stage Two, Alfredo continued to run competitively, battling in the middle of the pack and recording a 15th-place stage finish while keeping the No. 96 car in position for a potential top-15 result.
However, early in the final stage, Alfredo’s race took a turn when a flat tire struck while running inside the top 15. The tire failure caused significant damage as the carcass came apart, forcing an unscheduled stop and ultimately impacting the team’s ability to recover.
“Dang it… got a flat tire running inside the top 15 at the start of the final stage,” Alfredo shared. “Sustained some heavy damage from the carcass coming apart and couldn’t recover.”
Despite the setback, Alfredo was credited with a 24th-place finish — a result that does not fully reflect the speed and consistency shown by the team throughout the race.
Up Next: Alfredo and the No. 96 team head to Bristol Motor Speedway, where they will look to rebound and build on their strong intermediate performance.
