ANTHONY ALFREDO CONTINUES LATE-SEASON SURGE WITH EIGHTH-PLACE FINISH AT CHARLOTTE
Viking Motorsports driver records fourth top-10 finish in six races, including back-to-back top-10 performances
CONCORD, N.C. (October 12, 2026) — Anthony Alfredo's late-season momentum continued Sunday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he drove the No. 96 Viking Motorsports Chevrolet to an eighth-place finish in the Blue Cross NC 300. The result marked his fourth top-10 finish in his last six races, including two consecutive top-10s, as Alfredo and Viking Motorsports continue to show growing consistency in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Coming off a hard-fought 10th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway the previous weekend, Alfredo entered Charlotte looking to build on a stretch of competitive performances. With four top-10 finishes in six starts, the No. 96 team has been finding ways to turn competitive runs into strong results as the 2026 season approaches its conclusion.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, the 300-mile event was postponed to Sunday evening because of weather. With qualifying canceled and the starting lineup set by NASCAR's rulebook, Alfredo rolled off 12th for the 200-lap event on Charlotte's 1.5-mile oval.
The opening stage proved challenging as Alfredo worked to find the speed and track position needed to move toward the front. He finished Stage 1 in 17th, but the No. 96 team continued working throughout the evening to improve its position.
By the conclusion of Stage 2, Alfredo had climbed to 12th, putting himself within striking distance of the top 10 as the race entered its final stage.
As the competition intensified and track position became increasingly important, Alfredo continued his charge, working his way into the top 10 and holding on through the closing laps.
When the checkered flag waved, Alfredo crossed the finish line eighth, gaining four positions from the start and completing all 200 laps on the lead lap.
The result represented another encouraging performance for Viking Motorsports, which has continued to develop its program throughout the 2026 season.
For Alfredo, the back-to-back top-10 finishes show the No. 96 team's progress as the season approaches its final four races.
Building Momentum Late in the Season
The eighth-place finish at Charlotte marked Alfredo's ninth top-10 result of the 2026 season, but perhaps more importantly, it continued one of the team's most consistent stretches of the year.
With four top-10 finishes in the last six races, including back-to-back performances at Las Vegas and Charlotte, Alfredo and Viking Motorsports are demonstrating the progress they have made throughout their first season together.
The No. 96 team has now recorded three top-five and nine top-10 finishes in 29 starts, reflecting the organization's continued development and growing competitiveness.
For Alfredo, who currently sits 16th in the overall driver standings with 635 points, the recent performances provide an encouraging foundation as the series enters its final four races.
While the championship battle continues among the Chase-eligible drivers, Alfredo and Viking Motorsports remain focused on building consistency, competing for top-10 finishes, and closing out the season with momentum.
With the progress demonstrated over the last six races, the No. 96 team has plenty of reasons to be optimistic heading into Phoenix Raceway.
Next Stop: Phoenix Raceway
Alfredo and the Viking Motorsports team will return to action Saturday, October 17, for the Timberland PRO 200 at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.
The 200-mile event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, with television coverage on The CW and additional coverage on ESPN Unlimited, MRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
After Phoenix, the series will head to Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway before concluding the 2026 season on November 7 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
With four races remaining, Alfredo and the No. 96 team will look to extend their recent success and build on an encouraging stretch of performances.
