Alfredo Battles Through Rain-Shortened Charlotte Race to Solid Finish for Viking Motorsports
CONCORD, N.C. — Anthony Alfredo and the No. 96 Dogs By Andy Chevrolet team battled through changing conditions Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway to bring home a solid 13th-place finish in the rain-shortened NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event.
After qualifying was canceled due to weather, NASCAR set the starting lineup by the rulebook, placing Alfredo 13th on the grid for the evening. The Viking Motorsports driver fought through a challenging opening stage and changing track conditions throughout the night while continuing to keep the No. 96 machine in contention.
Alfredo was scored 22nd at the conclusion of Stage One before the team made adjustments and steadily improved throughout the remainder of the race. As rain and fog moved into the Charlotte area, Alfredo kept the Dogs By Andy Chevrolet clean and avoided the late-race chaos that impacted several competitors.
When NASCAR officially called the event early due to weather, Alfredo was credited with a 13th-place finish — another encouraging result for the growing Viking Motorsports organization.
“Had a fast car in Charlotte, but never really had an opportunity to show it with the short runs and only running half the scheduled distance,” Alfredo said following the race. “Glad we came out of it with a solid finish and really excited to head to Nashville next weekend.”
The Charlotte event marked another important step forward for Viking Motorsports as the expanding two-car organization continues building momentum during the 2026 season through its enhanced technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing.
Dogs By Andy served as the primary partner on Alfredo’s No. 96 Chevrolet for the Charlotte weekend. The company, founded by renowned trainer Andy Hanellin, specializes in elite executive protection and highly trained working dogs for high-profile clients across sports and entertainment.
Alfredo and the No. 96 team now turn their attention to Nashville Superspeedway as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series continues its busy Memorial Day stretch.
