Alfredo Charges to Top-10 Finish at Dover’s Monster Mile
DOVER, DEL. (May 17, 2026) — Anthony Alfredo continued to showcase the grit and determination that has defined his 2026 season Saturday at Dover Motor Speedway, driving the No. 96 DUDE Wipes Chevrolet to a strong 10th-place finish in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at the famed “Monster Mile.”
After qualifying 27th, Alfredo and the Viking Motorsports team focused on improving the car throughout the demanding afternoon on the one-mile concrete oval. Alfredo steadily worked his way through the field, finishing Stage 1 in 22nd and Stage 2 in 25th before charging forward late in the race to secure another impressive top-10 result.
The afternoon was far from easy for the No. 96 team, as the group battled through early adversity and damage before making critical adjustments that helped Alfredo become increasingly competitive as the race unfolded.
“Dover was a team effort all weekend long,” Alfredo said. “Even after starting the weekend pretty far off, the crew made great changes to the car and repairs after getting some damage early on. We fought a lot of adversity and proved that we can overcome anything when we execute as one group. We are going to carry this momentum into Charlotte next week.”
The result continues a season trend of overachieving performances for the smaller independent operation, as Viking Motorsports continues proving it can compete with many of the sport’s larger and better-funded organizations.
Known as one of NASCAR’s toughest venues, Dover Motor Speedway’s high banking, concrete surface, and demanding corners have earned the facility the nickname “The Monster Mile” for decades. Drivers often describe the track as one of the most physically challenging races on the schedule due to its speed, load, and intensity over a full event distance.
Up next for Alfredo and the No. 96 team is the Charbroil 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 23rd.
